Help us replace the Bicycle Collective!
We’re saddened by the recent closure of the Provo Bicycle Collective—a vital resource for our community. Provo still needs a community bike shop, and with the support of former directors, skilled mechanics, and dedicated volunteers, we’re ready to carry the torch.
The Provo Bicycle Collective is dead.💀
The Provo Bicycle Project is born. 👶
Help us keep a community bike shop in Provo!
Our Mission:
Provo Bicycle Project is a welcoming and trusted community hub. We improve lives by bringing affordable bicycles and service to all.
The backstory
We are a passionate group of bicyclists, mechanics, and enthusiasts. We are part of a wider community dedicated to improving active transportation in Provo and Utah County. Many of us are former employees or volunteers of the Provo Bicycle Collective. After the closure of the Provo Bicycle Collective, we decided to (re)create a space where anyone can obtain affordable quality bikes, reliable repairs, and bike-mechanic education. We believe that bicycling, whether for transportation or recreation, should be accessible to all regardless of socioeconomic status. That commitment fuels our desire to resurrect a non-profit bike shop with a local focus on community outreach and empowering individuals through bicycling.

What we’ll offer
-
We will give donated bikes a new life by refurbishing them both for resale and to give to low-income community members, including children, refugees, and unhoused individuals.
-
We will rent Do-It-Yourself (DIY) workbenches to fix and tinker on bikes. Professional mechanics will be available to guide you.
-
Learning how to work on bikes is fun and empowering. We will offer mechanic classes at our shop and through partnerships.
-
We will sell used and new parts, giving you a one-stop shop for all your bike needs.
-
We want everyone to have fun on bikes, so we’ll host frequent slow-paced, exploratory social rides that are fun for all ages and abilities.
